2022 Chapter Elections

The Chapter will be running the annual Elections in early 2022

  • Positions are typically 2-years and are staggered so that we have continuity for the members serving on the Board.
  • Position terms follow the ASID fiscal year, this term runs from October 2023 - September 2025
  • Training and support are available for every position.

President-Elect Officer (3 year term: President-Elect, President, Past President) Qualification for an officer position: any member in good standing with the appelation of ASID or Allied ASID

  • This is a progressive position: year 1 is President-elect, year 2 is President, year 3 is Past President
  • As an officer for the Chapter, you are ensuring that Policies and Procedures and all Bylaws issues are being followed. In this position you work in tandem with the President to support the Directors in their efforts (professional development, membership, finance, etc.)
  • National requires each chapter to have a strategic plan, an annual budget, and an annual meeting; National also strongly encourages an event specifically for students, an active membership drive, and fundraising efforts. The President-elect is involved in helping to develop all of these.
  • The President-elect also represents the President when that person is unavailable.

Time Commitment:

  • Monthly Board Meeting (90 minutes, virtual)
  • Weekly planning meetings (60 - 90 minutes, depending on experience of officers)
  • Monthly-ish meetings (less than 60 minutes) with National and the Officers of the State Chapters surrounding Indiana; either the President or the President-elect is asked to attend
  • Additional 6 - 8 hours/month for various support duties tied to events, Directors, or general Chapter outreach
  • Participation in the Annual Meeting (September each year)
  • The Officers are strongly encouraged to attend monthly events when possible

 

Qualification for director positions: any member in good standing withtheh appelation of ASID, allied ASID, or an Industry Partner in good standing are eligible for director positions

Membership Director (2 year term)

As membership director your primary function is to ensure the membership initiatives set forth by the Chapter are executed.

  • You plan and execute the membership development and retention initiatives.
  • You are the champion of WHY you should join ASID.
  • You are the first voice potential members hear

Basic responsibilities are to exercise membership function for the chapter including working with each event chair to ensure appropriate content of each event and working with the Communications Director to ensure the creation of timely and accessible advertisement of all events and activities.

Time Commitment:

  • Monthly Board Meeting (90 minutes, virtual)
  • Additional 6 - 8 hours/month for various support duties tied to events, Directors, or general Chapter outreach
  • Participation in the Annual Meeting (September each year)
  • The Officers are strongly encouraged to attend monthly events when possible

At-Large Director (2 year term)

As At-large director, you are responsible for focusing on any areas of particular importance or interest to your chapter.

  • You are to plan and execute the chapter’s programs throughout the year with the Professional Development Director and work with the Communications Director to promote chapter events.
  • You are to oversee and work with the chapter’s committees for legislative action and ethics issues, including acting as the chapter representative to the state’s coalition for legislation and the national ASID One Voice team.
  • You are to act as the board liaison to the design community chairs and the emerging professionals chair.

Time Commitment:

  • Monthly Board Meeting (90 minutes, virtual)
  • Additional 6 - 8 hours/month for various support duties tied to events, Directors, or general Chapter outreach
  • Participation in the Annual Meeting (September each year)
  • The Officers are strongly encouraged to attend monthly events when possible
