2021 Annual Student Competition

The Annual Student Competition is offered to all eight schools in the state that offer interior design programs. The focus and the partners for the project change yearly. Instructors work with the students for the bulk of the semester, and the results are very well done. Schools are allowed to submit their 5 best projects.

We are so grateful to ALL of the students that worked on this project! We are even more grateful for the instructors Barb Young, and Emily McLaughlin, and Suining Ding that lead the students through the project -- the instructors are such an important part of the process.

We have great support from our partners: Daltile, Dan Binford & Associates, Masland Carpet, and PPG paints. Their generosity to work with each school, judge the competition entries, and provide the prize money for our winners shows the dedication they have to this profession and our Indiana designers. We are very grateful to have been able to partner with such an extraordinary group of professionals.

We have even more support from our judges, professional interiors designers. The final solutions are very good, and the scoring was tight. Kari Funston, Lois Green, and Rosemary Kilmer diligently evaluated the entries in a double-blind setting.
